A classic chypre spicy fragrance for men, 1872's top notes contains galbanum, grapefruit, lime, bergamot, mandarin, classic petit grain, pineapple, peach and aromatic lavender combine with clary sage for a seamless feel to this perfume, remarkably long-lasting for a citrus scent with the middle notes of cyclamen, freesia, tagete oil and jasmine and the base notes of cedarwood, patchouli, olibanum, labdanum, amber and musk. ( Clary sage was considered by the Roman Empire to be a sacred herb and Emperor Nero is said to have dispersed this scent to focus and rejuvenate his troops before battle).
